RPS 205 held a ribbon cutting for the new Constance Lane Elementary School on Aug. 29, 2019. Constance Lane Elementary Staff hosted a back-to-school open house for students and their families. The new school will combine the populations of Kishwaukee and Nelson schools, both of which closed this year. The school is 86,000 sq. ft. and has four strands of K - 5 grade. The school was named after Constance Renick Lane, the district's first black teacher. She served as an educator and adminisitrator for more than 30 years, retiring as an assistant superintendent in 1985.
